چکیده
Although there is much to commend in Sarch's Criminally Ignorant: Why the Law Pretends We Know What Don't, this piece, I invite Sarch expand on his analysis by considering how English doctrine diverges from US he takes as foundational, and raise some doubts putting pressure theory of culpability that motivates views ignorance supplies culpability. In particular, (a) question defence a motive-insensitive culpability, (b) set out worries with strategy running theories inculpation exculpation together, (c) suggest prematurely rejects motive-based explanations why person who wilfully ignorant an inculpatory proposition when performing actus reus crime culpable another does same thing requisite knowledge.

Meaning Negotiation: an invitation
The development of distributed applications over large networks of computers raises the issue of semantic heterogeneity between autonomously developed sources of information or service providers. If, on the one hand, it is generally recognized that we need a semantic layer to provide more and more complex services, on the other hand it is clear that such a layer requires the ability to “bridge”...
متن کاملEditorial: Climate Science: An Invitation for Physicists.
Climate science is rooted in physics and in many of the methods used by physicists. Although it’s a cliché to say that the practice of science changed dramatically with the advent of the digital age, computers have had an enormous impact on the growth and evolution of climate science. Before computing, progress in explaining observations or making predictions in the physical sciences, including...

متن کاملMultiple Scattering: an Invitation∗
Multiple scattering is an important and interesting topic, of relevance in a wide variety of physical contexts. In this short paper, we attempt to review some of the theory and applications with the aim of encouraging further investigations. For simplicity, we consider the scattering of two-dimensional time-harmonic acoustic waves by hard parallel cylinders. Methods described include separation...
